Abstract: Molecular biology techniques applied to biotechnology have wide application in scientific fields, human and animal health. The use of these techniques has led to the development of vaccines, reducing costs in various production systems, as well as efficient therapies to treat and control diseases that affect these animals. The aim of this literature review was to survey information related to the use of molecular biology techniques in the development of vaccines and therapies against diseases that affect production animals. To this end, information was collected from scientific databases such as Scielo, Web Of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and Pubmed. Advances in molecular biology techniques have helped to develop safer and more effective vaccines and therapies, helping to increase the production and productivity of farm animals, as they contribute to the control and prevention of diseases.
