O USO DE MEMES EM SALA DE AULA – UM ESTUDO DE CASO COM O IMPERIALISMO EUROPEU DOS SÉCULOS XIX E XX
O presente artigo tem por objetivo verificar a possibilidade na utilização de memes para trabalhar o tema do imperialismo europeu praticado entre os séculos XIX e XX sob os territórios africano e asiático. Em um primeiro momento, o texto faz algumas considerações a respeito da historiografia produzida sobre o tema, explorando questões como: as motivações da busca por novos territórios e ampliar o leque de mercado consumidor, as justificativas dadas pelos europeus para legitimar a expansão, as negociatas políticas - sobretudo com a conferência de Berlim - para partilha da África e as consequências legadas pelo imperialismo. O texto também faz apontamos sobre os memes e sua utilização em sala de aula, destacando a origem do termo, sua popularização com o advento da internet e apresenta alguns estudos que mostram os efeitos positivos de seu uso em sala de aula e, por fim, trás alguns memes sobre o imperialismo que estão disponíveis na internet e faz sugestões de como podem ser usados pelos professores.

Abstract:
This article aims to verify the possibility of using memes to work on the theme of European imperialism practiced between the 19th and 20th centuries in African and Asian territories. At first, the text makes some considerations about the historiography produced on the subject, exploring questions such as: the motivations for the search for new territories and expanding the range of the consumer market, the justifications given by the Europeans to legitimize the expansion, the policies - above all with the Berlin conference - for the partition of Africa and the consequences bequeathed by imperialism. The text also points out about memes and their use in the classroom, highlighting the origin of the term, its popularization with the advent of the internet and presents some studies that show the positive effects of its use in the classroom and, finally, brings some memes about imperialism that are available on the internet and makes suggestions on how they can be used by teachers.
