O USO DE AGROTÓXICOS PELOS AGRICULTORES FAMILIARES EM COMUNIDADES RURAIS DE PAÇO DO LUMIAR – MA
Este estudo realizou uma
caracterização do uso de agrotóxicos pelos
agricultores que produzem e comercializam
hortaliças no município de Paço do Lumiar
- MA. Foram aplicados um questionário e um
termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido
para os agricultores, de modo a coletar as
informações sobre a pesquisa. Sendo assim,
foram coletados dados acerca do conhecimento
dos trabalhadores rurais sobre o risco do uso de
agrotóxicos, os cuidados com as embalagens
e a orientação técnica do uso dos agrotóxicos
sobre as plantações. Os resultados mostraram
que a maior parte dos agricultores utilizam
agrotóxicos nas lavouras; que utilizam um
grande número de agrotóxicos diferentes; que
as embalagens dos produtos são descartadas
incorretamente, muitas delas são queimadas
ou enterradas e os trabalhadores desconhecem
a entrega das embalagens nos próprios postos
de compra; a falta de orientação técnica sobre
o manuseio dos agrotóxicos e a ausência de
EPI’s, o que reflete riscos à saúde do agricultor
familiar e ao meio ambiente.

Abstract:
This study carried out a
characterization of the use of agrochemicals by
the farmers who produce and commercialize
vegetables in the municipality of Paço do Lumiar
- MA. A questionnaire and a free and informed
consent form were applied to farmers in order
to collect the information about the research.
Thus, data were collected on the knowledge of
rural workers about the risk of using pesticides,
packaging care and the technical orientation of
the use of pesticides on plantations. The results
showed that most farmers use agrochemicals
in crops; Which use a large number of different
agrochemicals; That the packaging of the
products is discarded incorrectly, many of
them are burned or buried and the workers are
unaware of the delivery of the packaging in the

own points of purchase; The lack of technical guidance on the handling of pesticides
and the absence of PPE, which reflects risks to the health of the family farmer and to
the environment.
