Abstract: This review presents the use of Tithonia diversifolia, a shrub species from the Asteracea family, as a protein source for animal feed. The available literature shows several studies regarding its high nutritional value and great productive potential. The protein content can reach 30% in the plant, and productivity of 30 to 70 t/ha. It is used to feed cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs and others, bringing nutritional benefits and reducing production costs, however there is a need for new studies on the use of Tithonia diversifolia in a grazing system.
