Abstract: Dentin hypersensitivity is characterized by acute and short-lasting pain in response to endogenous and exogenous stimuli, correlating with parafunctional habits resulting from anxiety disorder. As one of the most effective treatments, laser therapy has shown to be a resource with good results. Given this context, this study aims to present the efficacy of laser therapy in the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity in patients with anxiety disorder. To this end, an integrative review of the theoretical literature is presented, using articles published between 2021 and 2024, indexed in the databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), U.S National Library of Medicine (PUBMED), and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS). The following keywords were used to search for these articles: "dentin hypersensitivity", "anxiety disorder", "non-carious cervical lesions" and "laser therapy", as well as their synonyms accepted by the MESH and DECS vocabularies. The results show that high and low power lasers are effective in intervening in the neural and obliterating mechanisms of DH. Low power lasers (GaAIAs, He-NE) act by repairing the cellular tissue of the dentinal pulp, producing analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. High power lasers (ND:YAG, Er, Cr:YSGG and CO2) act by obliterating the dentinal tubules through heat induction, preventing the transmission of painful symptoms. In view of this, it is concluded that laser therapy is an effective treatment at the neural and obliterating level, presenting longitudinal results, without previous recurrence and rapid handling, being relevant for patients with anxiety disorder.
