O TESTAMENTO DE DOM EMANUEL GOMES DE OLIVEIRA, UMA ANÁLISE HISTÓRICA
Neste artigo analisaremos o testamento de Dom Emanuel Gomes de Oliveira, sétimo bispo de Goiás, que foi escrito em Goiânia no dia 08 de setembro de 1954[1], ano que antecedeu sua morte. Pretendemos averiguar a partir do testamento as declarações de sua “última vontade”. Nos valeremos dos estudos sobre a História da Morte para melhor compreensão do conteúdo. Pois, o testamento é a melhor fonte para abordar a antiga atitude diante da sepultura. Achamos oportuno esse estudo, pois por meio de seu testamento, Dom Emanuel nos deixou muito de seus pensamentos e convicções.
[1] Data que se comemora a Festa da Natividade de Nossa Senhora. Os documentos relevantes da Igreja Católica costumam ser datados na comemoração de alguma celebração litúrgica importante.

Abstract:
In this article we will analyze the testament of Dom Emanuel Gomes de Oliveira, seventh bishop of Goiás, which was written in Goiânia on September 8, 1954, the year before his death. We intend to find out from the will the declarations of his “last will”. We will use studies on the History of Death to better understand the content. For, the will is the best source to address the ancient attitude towards the grave. We think this study is opportune, because through his will, Dom Emanuel left us much of his thoughts and convictions.
