O SOL NASCENTE EM TERRA TUPINAMBÁ: A EXPERIÊNCIA DE IMIGRANTES JAPONESES DO MARANHÃO NA DÉCADA DE 1960.
O presente artigo é uma releitura de um dos capítulos de minha pesquisa de monografia que teve como objeto de estudo a experiência imigratória ocorrida no Maranhão na década de 1960 com a entrada de duas levas de famílias japonesas que formaram duas colônias agrícolas no estado: uma intitulada Morro de Alcântara, instalada na cidade de Rosário e uma segunda situada em Pedrinhas, povoado na zona rural de São Luís. Neste texto que vos apresento é possível entender o processo de atração, instalação e acomodação dos imigrantes nipônicos. Esta pesquisa faz parte de um campo ainda pouco estudado pela historiografia e continua a ser analisado para dissertação de mestrado, uma vez que há muitas lacunas que precisam ser preenchidas e compreendidas. Portanto, o texto a seguir é um breve apanhado de um estudo que está se aprofundando acerca da imigração japonesa no Maranhão e que tem como principal metodologia a História Oral e tem como fontes a memória oral e os jornais de circulação no estado a época.

Abstract:
This article is a rereading of one of the chapters of my monograph research that had as object of study the immigration experience occurred in Maranhão in the 1960s with the entry of two Japanese families that formed two agricultural colonies in the state: one entitled Morro de Alcântara, installed in the city of Rosário and a second located in Pedrinhas, populated in rural São Luís. In this text you can understand the process of attraction, installation and accommodation of Japanese immigrants. This research is part of a field still little studied by historiography and continues to be analyzed for master's dissertation, since there are many gaps that need to be filled and understood. Therefore, the following text is a brief overview of a study that is deepening about Japanese immigration in Maranhão and whose main methodology is oral history and has as sources the oral memory and newspapers circulating in the state at the time.
