Abstract: The RPG (Role-Playing Game) is a tabletop role-playing and imagination game that has been the subject of study in several research projects, mainly in the field of education. However, when analyzing this type of game, it becomes possible to treat it not only as such, but as an art game, since it is a mixture of “theater and play”. Vygotsky's works on art deal a lot with theater and the problems related to it in the immersion processes, both of those who watch plays and those who play the roles in the plays. From there, the production of stories staged in RPG can be treated as ideological, in the broad sense of ideology, and can act on the emotions and development of groups of players in a very forceful way, precisely because it has aspects related to the cathartic capacity of art, as well as the possibilities that the game has for the development of psychological systems. From the socio-historical perspective of psychology, this research presents the possibility of deepening the studies of TRPG (Tabletop Role-Playing Game) or tabletop RPG, relating concepts about art developed by Vygotsky, in addition to the concepts of imagination, creativity and play. The present work reveals the possibility of, treating RPG as an art-game, deepening mainly the concept of experience and how RPGs act as mediators of social relations from the creation of experiences, going beyond the majority of research that treats RPG only as a game. The present work uses conceptual-bibliographical research as its methodology and has as its epistemological basis mainly the works of Vygotsky in "The Psychology of Art" and in "Imagination and Creativity in Childhood", as well as other authors of historical-cultural psychology. We believe that future research should problematize the interactions between players through action and participant research methodologies.
