O que estudantes pensam sobre as fases da Lua?
Fato incontestável é que os acontecimentos astronômicos estão
presentes em nossas vidas e por mais que muitos desses fenômenos sejam
passíveis de observação, tais como o dia e a noite, as fases da Lua, os Eclipses,
entre outros, somente a percepção de tais corpos celestes e de seus eventos
cósmicos não garante que eles sejam compreendidos em sua plenitude. Diante
disso, este estudo teve por objetivo averiguar as ideias de estudantes do Ensino
Fundamental II sobre a ocorrência das fases da Lua. Para isso, contou-se com a
participação de 20 alunos, matriculados no 8º ano de uma escola pública do interior
do Estado de São Paulo, submetidos a uma entrevista clínico-crítica sobre
conteúdos de Astronomia básica que abordou o tema fases da Lua. As respostas
aos questionamentos foram analisadas segundo seu conteúdo e, em específico
sobre a compreensão das fases lunares, obtiveram-se cinco categorias, de modo
que o maior percentual de respostas concentrou-se no desconhecimento de uma
explicação para o fenômeno. Destaca-se a presença de pensamentos muito
singulares como, por exemplo, a Lua diminui e aumenta de tamanho, em
justificativa para existência das suas fases. Espera-se, com esses resultados,
oferecer aos que lidam diretamente com essa temática, professores e seus
formadores, a importância de se conhecer as ideias dos alunos buscando com isso
intervenções pedagógicas que se aproximem de uma aprendizagem significativa e
contextualizada.

Abstract:
It is an incontrovertible fact that astronomical events are present in our
lives and however many of these phenomena are observable, such as day and night,
phases of the Moon, Eclipses, among others, only the perception of such celestial
bodies and their cosmic events does not guarantee that they are understood in their
fullness. Therefore, this study had the objective of investigate the ideas of
Elementary School students about the occurrence of the phases of the Moon. For
this, it was counted on the participation of 20 students, enrolled in the 8th year of
a public school in the inner state of São Paulo, who were underwent to a clinicalcritical
interview on Basic Astronomy contents that approached the theme of the
Moon phases. The answers to these questions were analyzed according to their
content and, specifically about the understanding of the lunar phases, five
categories were obtained and so that the highest percentage of responses were
focused on the lack of knowledge of an explanation for the phenomenon. It stands
out the presence of very singular thoughts as, for example, the Moon decreases and
increases in size, in justification for the existence of its phases. With these results,
we hope to offer those who deal directly with this theme, teachers and their trainers,
the importance of getting to know the students' ideas, thus seeking pedagogical
interventions that approach meaningful and contextualized learning.
