O PROGRAMA FOMENTO FLORESTAL DE EUCALIPTO E SUAS POSSIBILIDADES PARA UMA DISCUSSÃO E VISÃO CRÍTICA SOBRE EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL E SUSTENTABILIDADE PARA ESTUDANTES DO ENSINO MÉDIO.
A região do Vale do Rio Doce /MG tem 151.649,06 hectares de área plantada, a quarta maior em concentração de eucalipto no Estado. Essas plantações adquirem grande importância econômica na região, mas podem trazer danos ambientais como contaminação do lençol freático e diminuição da biodiversidade. Este trabalho busca compreender e desvelar contribuições e desvantagens do Programa de Fomento Florestal de Eucalipto e suas possibilidades na abordagem didático-pedagógica, e apresenta a importância de debatê-lo no âmbito escolar com uma visão investigativa de temas relativos à preservação ambiental e sustentabilidade. A partir de tais discussões, desenvolveu-se também no presente trabalho um guia para a confecção de um jogo de tabuleiro a partir da realização de visitas técnicas a áreas de florestas de eucalipto, e de matas preservadas, visando incentivar e subsidiar as discussões sobre os impactos das monoculturas e meio ambiente. Para o desenvolvimento do produto foram feitas pesquisas bibliográficas e análises documentais e teóricas. Pretende-se que o guia seja utilizado por professores e estudantes da região como modelo para a produção do seu próprio material. Acredita-se que o guia tem o potencial de contribuir, com uma perspectiva crítica, com a ampliação do ambiente educativo para além dos muros da escola, ampliando o leque de métodos para abordar a educação ambiental e ao mesmo tempo levando em consideração o desenvolvimento sustentável da região.

Abstract:
The Vale do Rio Doce / MG region has 151,649.06 hectares of planted area, the fourth largest in concentration of eucalyptus in the State of Minas Gerais. These plantations acquire great economic importance in the region, but they can bring environmental damage such as contamination of the groundwater and decrease of biodiversity. This work seeks to understand and unveil contributions and disadvantages of the Eucalyptus Forest Promotion Program and its possibilities in the didactic-pedagogical approach, having the importance of discussing it in the school environment with an investigative view of issues related to environmental preservation and sustainability. The educational product developed is a guide based on technical visits to areas of eucalyptus forests and preserved forests, aiming to encourage and support discussions on monocultures and the environment. For the development of the product, bibliographic researches and documentary and theoretical analyzes were carried out. It is intended that the guide is used by teachers and students in the region as a model for the production of their own material. It is believed that the guide has the potential to contribute, with a critical perspective, to the expansion of the educational environment beyond the walls of the school, magnifying the range of methods to address environmental education and at the same time taking into account sustainable development of region.
