O PROFESSOR DE CIÊNCIAS DO 9º ANO DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL: INVESTIGAÇÃO DE ALGUMAS DIFICULDADES RELATIVAS A ESSE CICLO DE ESTUDO
Este trabalho resulta de uma pesquisa
sobre a percepção de professores de Ciências
atuantes no 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental e
de sobre alguns problemas relativos a esse
ciclo de estudo. A pesquisa foi realizada com
professores de três cidades da macrorregião de
Picos-PI: na Unidade Escolar Senador Chagas
Rodrigues (município de Novo Oriente do
Piauí), na Unidade Escolar Oto Martins Veloso
(município de Valença do Piauí) e na Unidade
Escolar Coelho Rodrigues (município de Picos
do Piauí). A motivação partiu da necessidade de
conhecer as principais dificuldades no ensino
de Ciências do 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental,
focando-se na pessoa do professor que
atua nesse ciclo de ensino. Assim, o foco do
trabalho foi analisar desde o perfil profissional
do professor de Ciências do 9º ano, bem como
as principais dificuldades encontradas por
estes profissionais nas escolas envolvidas na
pesquisa. Essa análise foi possível através da
aplicação de questionários, do levantamento da
literatura sobre a prática docente, em relação
ao ensino de Ciências e de documentos oficiais.
Trata-se de uma pesquisa com abordagem
qualitativa/quantitativa realizada com três
professores de escolas diferentes, sendo
utilizado questionários com perguntas abertas
e fechadas como instrumento de coleta de
dados. De acordo com os resultados podemos
perceber a concepção dos professores em
torno das dificuldades que encontram no seu
dia a dia em sala de aula, tais como a falta de
adequada formação, falta de base conceitual
dos alunos, dentre outros fatores avaliados na
pesquisa.

Abstract:
This work results from a research on the perception of science teachers
working in the 9th year of elementary school and about some problems related to
this cycle of study. The research was carried out with teachers from three cities of
the Picos-PI macro-region: at the Unidade Escolar Senador Chagas Rodrigues (in the
city of Novo Oriente do Piauí), at the Unidade Escolar Oto Martins Veloso (in the
city of Valença do Piauí) and at the Unidade Escolar Coelho Rodrigues (in the city of
Picos do Piauí). The motivation was based on the need to know the main difficulties in
Science Education in the 9th year of Fundamental Education, focusing on the person
of the teacher who works in this teaching cycle. Thus, the objective of the study was
to analyze from the professional profile of the 9th grade science teacher, as well as
the main difficulties encountered by these professionals in the schools involved in the
research. This analysis was possible through the application of questionnaires, the
survey of literature on teaching practice, in relation to science teaching and official
documents. It is a qualitative/quantitative research conducted with three teachers
from different schools, using questionnaires with open and closed questions as a data
collection instrument. According to the results we can see the teachers’ conception of
the difficulties they encounter in their daily life in the classroom, such as the lack of
adequate training, lack of conceptual basis of the students, among other factors.
