O PROCESSO DE PRODUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO NO PPGSS/UFPB: O ESTADO DA ARTE DAS DISSERTAÇÕES DE MESTRADO VINCULADAS À ÁREA DE FUNDAMENTAÇÃO TEÓRICO-PRÁTICA DO SERVIÇO SOCIAL
Este artigo objetiva analisar a
produção do conhecimento na área do Serviço
Social a partir das influências hegemônicas
da Modernidade à emersão da ofensiva pósmoderna.
Trata-se de uma pesquisa de caráter
bibliográfico e documental mediante a aplicação
do estado da arte com uso de metodologias
quanti-qualitativas. Os resultados revelam um
universo de 234 Dissertações de Mestrado
defendidas de 1982 a 2010. Desse universo, 183
(78,2%) inserem-se na área de concentração
de Política Social, enquanto apenas 51(21,8%)
investigam os objetos de estudo relacionados
à área de Fundamentação Teórico-Prática do
Serviço Social. O aumento significante dos
objetos investigativos vinculados à Política
Social deriva do aumento das demandas
sociais que instigam os assistentes sociais a
buscar o aprofundamento intelectual de modo
a compreendê-las e a qualificar sua atuação
profissional. Os resultados desta pesquisa
indicam que as inflexões pós-modernas
na produção do conhecimento através das
dissertações de mestrado geradas no PPGSS/
UFPB ainda são tênues, se considerar
a hegemonia dos estudos investigativos
macrossocietários, cujas categorias temáticas
são analisadas na perspectiva da totalidade
advinda do método da teoria social crítica
marxista.

Abstract:
This article aims to analyze the
production of knowledge in the area of Social
Service from the hegemonic influences of
Modernity to the emergence of the postmodern
offensive. It is a research of bibliographical and
documentary character through the application
of the state of the art with the use of quantitativequalitative
methodologies. The results reveal
a universe of 234 Master’s Dissertations
defended from 1982 to 2010. Of this universe,
183 (78.2%) are included in the Social Policy concentration area, while only 51 (21.8%)
investigate the objects of related to the Theoretical-Practical Groundwork of Social
Work. The significant increase in investigative objects linked to Social Policy derives
from the increase in social demands that instigate social workers to seek intellectual
deepening in order to understand them and qualify their professional performance.
The results of this research indicate that the postmodern inflections in the production
of knowledge through the masters dissertations generated in the PPGSS / UFPB are
still tenuous, considering the hegemony of macro-society research studies, whose
thematic categories are analyzed from the perspective of the totality derived from the
method of Marxist critical social theory.
