• Abstract:

  This article aims to analyze the

  production of knowledge in Social Service in

  the decade of 2000 around the influences of the

  legacy of the Modernity Project to the emergence

  of its attempt to rupture, via Postmodernity.

  Specifically, it tries to examine the Master’s

  Dissertations of the Graduate Program in Social

  Work of the UFPB, defended in the years 2000,

  related to the area of Theoretical-practical

  Groundwork of Social Work. It is typified as a

  bibliographical and documentary research,

  using state-of-the-art methodology. The first data

  reveal a universe of 117 Dissertations defended

  in the 2000s. Of this universe, 95 (81%) are

  linked to the Social Policy concentration area,

  while only 22 (19%) turn to objects in the

  area of Theoretical Grounding -Practice of

  Social Service. The results indicate that the

  postmodern inflections in the production of

  knowledge through the analyzed Dissertations

  are still tenuous if one considers the hegemony

  of macro-society research studies, whose

  thematic categories are interpreted from the perspective of totality derived from the

  method of critical social Marxist theory.
