Abstract: Researchers analyzed several factors that have some influence on the hydrogeological conditioning of the fractured Couto Magalhães aquifer in the city of Marabá, located in the southeast of the Pará state, in Brazil. To do this, knowledge of hydrogeology, geomorphology, photo interpretation, and structural geology was used. Those parameters, when analyzed together, decrease the margin of error for wells drilling in the fractured rocks aquifers. The area where this work took place is geologically composed by phyllites, slates and micaschists from the Couto Magalhães Formation. With regards to geomorphology, there are both areas of denudation and aggradation. The first one is composed by various types of hills while the second one is formed by extensive plains. The structural trends obtained by photo interpretation of satellite and radar images are compatible with the results of fracking data obtained in the field. The main fracture sets are NW-SE and NE-SW, and secondarily, N-S and E-W. When those fractures intercept each other, they produce anomalous patterns in the form of rhombohedral fractures present in the rocks. The Analysis of brittle and ductile structures and the association of them with regional structural data, made possible the ability to recognize the main directions of Riedel fractures as well as the ability to illustrate them in the ellipsoid created by McCLAY (1994). Data integration allowed researchers to indicate the areas that should be investigated with more details in order to ensure the best places to drill and to produce good wells
