Abstract: This expanded summary presents an experience report experienced by students in the sixth semester of the Mathematics degree course, offered by the State University of Bahia — Campus VI, in the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (Pibid), in which we followed, for a year, mathematics classes in a first-year class at a high school in the city of Caetité - BA. The objective is to highlight the contributions and impacts of Pibid in our initial teacher training. In the project methodology, study, research, preparation of teaching material, observation of classes and implementation of workshops were carried out. For the literary review, we used Mizukami (2002), Silva (1997) and Silva et al. (2013). Through the work developed, we demonstrate that Pibid is a program that acts positively in the training of future teachers, providing more autonomy, security and experience through direct contact with the public school and practical activities in the classroom.
