Abstract: Conformity is a behavior influenced by predominantly frontotemporal brain circuits. Two situations are crucial for this phenomenon: first, memory engrams, which store traces of memories and their associated emotions, can be modified over time, resulting in less emotional intensity; second, the brain has defense mechanisms that help prevent the pessimistic cascade derived from anxiety, facilitating adaptation and reducing suffering. Thus, even in old age, we can recall our youth with nostalgia while still finding happiness despite the proximity to the end of life. What led me to this study was to validate the concept of conformity as a defense mechanism of the organism and an evolutionary project, helping us better navigate the period that surpasses the reason for our existence. Our primary instinct is survival, and secondarily, reproduction for the survival of the species, more precisely, the DNA. It seems that we are designed not to let the genomic sequence disappear but to perfect and shape it in an evolutionary project. Therefore, everything is related to the evolution and maintenance of the species. We are destined to be born, reproduce, care for the reproduction, help care for the reproduction of the reproduction, maintaining ourselves in a state of preservation, and then die, fulfilling the cycle and "eternalizing" our DNA in subsequent generations.
