O PAPEL DO FARMACÊUTICO NA PREVENÇÃO DA INFECÇÃO URINÁRIA EM IDOSO
Em todo o mundo, o envelhecimento da população começa com o alerta da Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS), onde se estabelece que o sujeito seja visto como idoso a partir de 60 anos em diante. As infecções são consideradas um grave problema para todos, mas principalmente para os idosos, sabendo que as doenças infecciosas representam 1/3 (um terço) da mortalidade em pessoas acima 65 anos de idade. A população idosa possui maior acometimento por infecções, sendo um público que requer mais assistência. O presente estudo tem o objetivo de compreender o papel dos farmacêuticos no tratamento da infecção urinária dos idosos. Ao abordar especificamente a infecção do trato urinário como uma das infecções de maior prevalência em idosos, em especial os acamados. Por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica, observou que os profissionais da área da saúde devem se alertar sobre a importância desta enfermidade para esse público. Para tal pesquisa, foram levados em considerações os artigos
inseridos nas bases de dados Lilacs, SciELO, no período entre de janeiro de 2021 a abril de 2021 como critérios de buscas foram utilizadas as palavras-chaves: Farmacêutico; Infecção urinária; Idosos. Para uma melhor compreensão dos resultados, foi apresentada uma tabela com os principais descritores abordados. Foram separados seis artigos, que atendiam os critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Chegando que a conclusão que as ações efetuadas pelo farmacêutico na consulta, como a reconciliação medicamentosa, a análise da adesão ao tratamento, acompanhamento e monitoramento de reações adversas e interações medicamentosas.

Abstract:
All over the world, the aging of the population begins with the alert of the World Health Organization (WHO), where it is established that the subject is seen as elderly from 60 years onwards. Infections are considered a serious problem for everyone, but especially for the elderly, knowing that infectious diseases represent 1/3 (one third) of mortality in people over 65 years of age. The elderly population is more affected by infections and is also a public that requires more assistance. The present study aims to understand the role of pharmacists in the treatment of urinary tract infection in the elderly. By specifically addressing urinary tract infection as one of the most prevalent infections in the elderly, especially the bedridden. Through a bibliographic review, it was observed that health professionals should be aware of the importance of this disease for this public. For this research, the articles inserted in the Lilacs, SciELO databases, in the period between January 2021 and April 2021, were taken into consideration as search criteria the keywords were used: Pharmacist; Urinary infection; Seniors. For a better understanding of the results, a table was presented with the main descriptors addressed. Six articles were separated, which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Coming to the conclusion that the actions taken by the pharmacist in the consultation, such as medication reconciliation, analysis of treatment adherence, follow-up and monitoring of adverse reactions and drug interactions.
