O PAPEL DO ENFERMEIRO NA COMPOSIÇÃO DO SERVIÇO ESPECIALIZADO DE SEGURANÇA E MEDICINA DO TRABALHO
Embora já presente nas grandes empresas há alguns anos, a Enfermagem do Trabalho, no Brasil, passou a ter regulamentação específica a partir da Portaria 3.214, de 08 de junho de 1978 do Ministério do Trabalho e Emprego. Nessa portaria está descrita a Norma Regulamentadora (NR) 4. Assim, foram criados os Serviços Especializados em Engenharia de Segurança e em Medicina do Trabalho (SESMT) que determina que todas as empresas que possuam empregados regidos pela Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho – CLT, devem possuir os SESMT para promoção da saúde e proteção da integridade do trabalhador no local de trabalho. O enfermeiro possui em sua formação disciplinas voltadas ao cuidado do ser humano em todas etapas e processos de vida, entendendo que seu papel vai além do de apenas tratar doenças. Dessa maneira, atua na prevenção, promoção e reabilitação da saúde dos indivíduos e coletividades. Visto que, para empresas de grande porte, é obrigatória a presença do Enfermeiro nas equipes que compõem o SESMT, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica em fontes (artigos científicos, portarias, normas regulamentadoras) que discursam a respeito do tema, com objetivos de identificar o papel do enfermeiro na composição desses serviços e assim poder verificar sua importância. Com a pesquisa, foi visto que o Enfermeiro atua em atividades fundamentais para prevenção, manutenção da saúde e redução de danos no ambiente laboral.

Abstract:
Although already present in large companies for some years, Occupational Nursing, in Brazil, began to have specific regulations from Ordinance 3,214, of June 8, 1978 of the Ministry of Labor and Employment. This ordinance describes Regulatory Norm (NR) 4. Thus, the Specialized Services in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine (SESMT) were created, which determines that all companies that have employees governed by the Consolidation of Labor Laws - CLT, must have the SESMT for health promotion and protection of the integrity of the worker in the workplace. Nurses have disciplines in their training aimed at caring for human beings in all stages and processes of life, understanding that their role goes beyond just treating diseases. In this way, it acts in the prevention, promotion and rehabilitation of the health of individuals and communities. Since, for large companies, the presence of a Nurse in the teams that make up the SESMT is mandatory, a bibliographical research was carried out in sources (scientific articles, ordinances, regulatory standards) that discuss the subject, with the objective of identifying the role of the nurse in the composition of these services and thus be able to verify its importance. With the research, it was seen that the Nurse acts in fundamental activities for prevention, maintenance of health and reduction of damages in the work environment.
