Abstract: Brazilian society experiences, on a daily basis, an alarming scenario of violence against girls and women, present in the most diverse social contexts. Although significant advances are recognized in the legal framework aimed at preventing and addressing this phenomenon, it is understood that its causes are structural, historical, and cultural, requiring continuous and systematic educational processes. In this context, the school environment is configured as a privileged space for the promotion of preventive and formative actions aimed at overcoming gender-based violence. This article is grounded in qualitative research, developed through bibliographic and documentary analysis, anchored in theoretical frameworks of Human Rights Education and in national and international legislation relevant to the theme. The study seeks to foster reflections on the need to build solid, intentional, and continuous educational processes, guided by the principles of Human Rights Education, as a fundamental strategy for the prevention and confrontation of gender-based violence against girls and women in Brazil.
