Abstract: Pregnant women diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency Virus – HIV during prenatal care are indicated for treatment with antiretroviral drugs throughout pregnancy. Treatment prevents vertical transmission of HIV to the child. It´s also recommended not to breastfeed, to avoid transmitting HIV to the newborn through breast milk. The earlier this is done, the greater the chance of transmission reaching almost zero. When caring for HIV-positive pregnant women, nurses carry out a number of activities, including pre- and post-test counseling during prenatal consultations. The general aim of this study was to learn about the role of nursing in caring for pregnant women with AIDS. To construct this study, an integrative review was carried out, searching the LILACS, SCIELO and BDENF databases, using the descriptors: HIV. Pregnancy at Risk. Women's Health, from June to August 2022. Prenatal care is the main form of care provided to pregnant women. During the nine-month period, appointments are made to detect illnesses, prevent and treat pathologies that may affect or compromise maternal and fetal health and well-being. The role of nurses is related to the objective of providing care to HIV-positive pregnant women. The practice of counseling is of great importance in the prevention, diagnosis and care of infected pregnant women. After the first consultation, nurses are given information about how the pregnant woman will be followed up with the entire multi-professional team. Therefore, nurses should play a key role in developing inclusion actions where activities are designed to enable interaction between pregnant women from different spheres of care.
