O MODELO DE EDUCAÇÃO FEMININA DO FILOSOFO LUÍS ANTÓNIO VERNEY NO SÉCULO XVIII
Este artigo tem como objetivo
investigar o modelo de Educação Feminino
descrito na obra: Verdadeiro Método de
Estudar: para ser útil à República, e à Igreja –
ao estilo e necessidade de Portugal, pelo padre
Luís António Verney (1713-1792). O livro foi
publicado em 1746 sob o pseudônimo de Frei
Barbadinho da Itália e foi utilizado como base
metodológica para pacote de reformas dos
métodos de ensino em Portugal no século XVIII.
A obra, composta por dezesseis cartas, deixa
clara sua proposta de uma educação voltada ao
público feminino, contradizendo o pensamento
predominante da época, da qual as mulheres
não deveriam ser instruídas.

Abstract:
This article aims to investigate the
model of Feminine Education described in the
work: True Method of Studying: to be useful to
the Republic, and to the Church - to the style and
necessity of Portugal, by Father Luis António
Verney (1713-1792). The book was published in
1746 under the pseudonym of Frei Barbadinho
of Italy and was used as a methodological basis
for the reform package of teaching methods
in Portugal in the 18th century. The work,
composed of sixteen letters, makes clear its
proposal of an education directed at the female
audience, contradicting the prevailing thinking
of the time, from which women should not be
educated.
