O lugar da tradição em Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa
Homem comprometido com o seu tempo, o escritor contemporâneo Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa faz da literatura uma forma de elaborar as transformações sofridas por Moçambique e de refletir sobre a identidade da nação. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar o papel da tradição nos contos “Morte inesperada” e “Exorcismo”, que integram o livro Orgia dos loucos. Para tanto, tomamos por base, principalmente, os trabalhos de Stuart Hall (2006), Michel Pollak (1989) e José Luís Cabaço (2009), além de entrevistas e ensaios de Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa. Os resultados indicam que, como resposta ao alheamento à tradição estimulado pela FRELIMO, a ficção do moçambicano aponta o caminho da valorização das origens.

Abstract:
A man committed to his time, the contemporary writer Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa makes literature a way of elaborating the transformations suffered by Mozambique and reflecting on the nation's identity. The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of tradition in the short stories “Unexpected death” and “Exorcismo”, which are part of the book Orgia dos loucos. For that, we mainly take the works of Stuart Hall (2006), Michel Pollak (1989) and José Luís Cabaço (2009), as well as interviews and essays by Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa. The results indicate that, in response to the alienation from tradition stimulated by FRELIMO the Mozambican's fiction points the way of valuing origins.
