Abstract: The present work has as general objective to understand the role of playfulness in the mediation of teaching learning of children with Special Educational Needs in the perspective of inclusion. It is a qualitative study, in which a bibliographical research was done, analyzing the position of already consolidated studies about the proposed theme, and field research for collecting and analysis, made from a participant observation and a semistructured interview with the teacher regent, of a class of the fourth year of the initial series of a public school. Over the years, education for all has been discussed in several countries, and in this context, Brazil has been proposing a policy that includes, among other publics, people with special needs. The inclusion of these people goes far beyond enrolling them in a school. This is why studies point to the need for adapting methods that promote meaningful enjoyable learning a meaningful way. The ludic has this role. It is a methodological tool that can contribute to school inclusion and is characterized as a moment in which the child uses his spontaneity and, consequently, expressiveness and creativity, since it is not just a play, but a play with pedagogical intentionality. The ludic as a daily practice worked in the school, will also facilitate the literacy process, being done in order to obtain positive results. Finally, through the research, it follows that playfulness makes differences in the lives of all people, especially children with special educational needs who have difficulties in the schooling process like any other child. The ludic makes these children know themselves, in their desires and limitations, including them and teaching them to communicate with the world.
