O “LIVRO DE ENTRADA DE IRMÃOS DA IRMANDADE DE N. SRA. DO ROZARIO DOS PRETOS DA FREGUESIA DA CAXOEIRA” – RS, SÉC. XIX.
A proposta deste capítulo é apresentar o documento “Livro de Entrada de Irmãos da Irmandade de N. Sra. do Rozario dos Pretos da Freguesia da Caxoeira” (1812/1846); documento de 89 páginas manuscritas (frente e verso), integrante do “Acervo das Irmandades”, custodiado pelo Arquivo Histórico de Cachoeira do Sul – RS. A escolha por esta proposta se deve a minha experiência como bolsista de iniciação científica vinculado ao projeto de pesquisa “Sob as Bênçãos do Rosário e São Benedito: Ações políticas, identidades, sociabilidades e as artes da resistência (as irmandades de pretos de São Leopoldo e Cachoeira - RS)”, onde atuei realizando a transcrição paleográfica integral e análises quantitativas e qualitativas nesta documentação. A reflexão realizada no texto se insere na historiografia sociocultural da escravidão no Brasil; dialogando com a temática das “Irmandades Negras”, argumento que poucos estudos verticalizaram análises sob os livros dessas associações, “tornando história” apenas algumas informações (provas ou fatos documentais) presentes neste tipo de documentação. Utilizei, como suporte teórico-metodológico deste texto, os jogos de escalas. Assim, aplicando técnicas de análise quantitativa e qualitativa foi possível reconstituir partes da história administrativa desta associação negra, criando hipóteses para compreensão de seu gerenciamento, seus mecanismos de exclusão e pertencimento, seus usos étnico-raciais e de gênero específicos; além da apresentar fragmentos de trajetórias individuais e familiares, de homens e mulheres negras que protagonizaram a criação e o gerenciamento desta Irmandade. A conclusão do texto aponta para relevância do Livro de entrada como fonte histórica, afinal, este documento é um vestígio histórico eloquente, que porta testemunhos da autêntica e humana participação de homens e mulheres negras no passado brasileiro.

Abstract:
The aim of this chapter is to present the document “Livro de Entrada de Irmãos da Irmandade de N. Sra. do Rozario dos Pretos da Freguesia da Caxoeira” (1812/1846); 89-page handwritten document (front and back), integrating the “Acervo das Irmandades”, held by the Historical Archive of Cachoeira do Sul - RS. The choice for this proposal is due to my experience as a scientific initiation fellow linked to the research project “Under the Blessings of Rosário and São Benedito: Political actions, identities, sociability and the arts of resistance (the black brotherhoods of São Leopoldo and Cachoeira - RS) ”, where I worked performing the full paleographic transcription and quantitative and qualitative analyzes in this documentation. The reflection carried out in the text is part of the sociocultural historiography of slavery in Brazil; dialoguing with the theme of “Black Brotherhoods”, I argue that few studies have verticalized analyzes under the books of these associations, “making history” only some information (evidence or documentary facts) present in this type of documentation. I used the game of scales as theoretical and methodological support for this text. Thus, applying quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques, it was possible to reconstruct parts of the administrative history of this black association, creating hypotheses for understanding its management, its mechanisms of exclusion and belonging, its specific ethnic-racial and gender uses; in addition to presenting fragments of individual and family trajectories, of black men and women who led the creation and management of this Brotherhood. The conclusion of the text points to the relevance of the Entry Book as a historical source, because this document is an eloquent historical vestige, which bears testimonies of the authentic and human participation of black men and women in the Brazilian past.
