O Jogo Mancala: Uma Proposta Interdisciplinar para uma Abordagem à História da Matemática
Este trabalho visa mostrar
novas metodologias que auxiliem no ensino
de matemática, tais como a utilização de
Jogos e História da Matemática, e suas
contribuições para o aprendizado significativo
e contextualizado desta disciplina por
parte dos alunos. Pretendemos combater
a visão eurocentrista da ciência através da
Etnomatemática, que busca resgatar a cultura
matemática de diversos povos entre eles
a africana. Buscando fazer uma interação
de conteúdos entre Matemática e História,
escolhemos a Mancala, que é uma família de
jogos milenar de estratégia, de origem africana,
em que podemos observar o desenvolvimento
de um raciocínio lógico-matemático, além
de fazermos um aprofundamento histórico
sobre a cultura africana. Também de forma
interdisciplinar envolvemos sementes de jatobá
uma fruta típica do semiárido cearense. Tendo
em vista que as sementes são partes integrantes
do jogo Mancala, pois as regras consistem em
usá-las na disputa. Nossa abordagem em sala
de aula visa o resgate da historia intelectual dos
povos africanos com a história do jogo e sua
correta aplicação com objetivos educacionais.
A interdisciplinaridade entre a Matemática, a
História, Língua Materna e Meio Ambiente,
ocorreria através das atividades planejadas de
forma natural. Apresentado no XVII Artefatos da
Cultura Negra.

Abstract:
This work aims to show new
methodologies that help in the teaching of
mathematics, such as the use of Mathematical
Games and History, and its contributions to the
significant learning and contextualized of this
discipline by the students. We intend to combat
the Eurocentric vision of science through
ethnomathematics, which seeks to rescue
the mathematical culture of various peoples
including African. In order to make an interaction
of contents between Mathematics and History,
we chose the Mancala, which is a family of
millenarian games of strategy, of African origin,
in which we can observe the development of a
logical-mathematical reasoning, besides making
a historical deepening on the African culture.
Also in an interdisciplinary way we involve seeds
of jatobá a fruit typical of the semi-arid region of
Ceará. Since the seeds are integral parts of the
Mancala game, the rules consist of using them in the dispute. Our classroom approach
aims to rescue the intellectual history of African peoples with the history of the game
and its correct application for educational purposes. The interdisciplinarity between
Mathematics, History, Mother Language and Environment, would occur through the
activities planned in a natural way. Presented in the XVII Artifacts of the Black Culture.
