Abstract: The Repetitive Demand Resolution Mechanism (IRDR) is a procedural tool introduced by the 2015 Brazilian Code of Civil Procedure to address the multiplicity of similar lawsuits and promote the standardization of jurisprudential understandings. This instrument aims to ensure efficiency, legal certainty, and equality in the resolution of disputes, particularly those involving homogeneous individual rights. This study analyzes the impact of the IRDR on the Brazilian procedural system, with 1 [email protected] Aluna do Mestrado em Direito na Fundação Escola Superior do Ministério Pública do Rio Grande do Sul. 2 a focus on its applicability in repetitive claims that share a common origin. For this purpose, a theoretical-doctrinal approach was employed, based on works by renowned jurists and an analysis of the relevant legislation. The research also examined landmark cases, highlighting the IRDR's contributions to the enforcement of collective and individual rights in the contemporary judicial scenario. The findings reveal that the IRDR not only streamlines judicial activities but also strengthens the role of the precedent system in Brazil, contributing to the predictability and stability of judicial decisions. Furthermore, it was observed that its effective implementation depends on overcoming challenges such as cultural resistance to binding jurisprudence and the need to harmonize generalist decisions with the specificities of individual cases. The study concludes that the IRDR is an essential mechanism for strengthening collective justice and protecting homogeneous individual rights, playing a crucial role in enhancing access to justice and consolidating a more efficient and equitable procedural system in Brazil.
