Abstract: The prognosis of cervical cancer depends mainly on early screening for cervical intraepithelial lesions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, cancer screening tests were interrupted, directly influencing the early diagnosis of the disease and increasing the number of serious cases discovered late. to identify the impact of the reduction in screening tests to detect precancerous lesions of the cervix during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an integrative review with descriptors inserted into the Health Descriptors platform (DeCS) and research carried out using the Health Library (BVS) with access to LILACS and Medline. The PICo methodology was used to construct the guiding question; articles published more than five years previously, in languages other than English, Portuguese and Spanish, with other approaches or duplicates were discarded by the team. The results obtained from the database search totaled 109 articles, most of which were in Medline and around 99% of the articles were in English. After reading and analyzing the exclusion criteria, seven articles were selected, with three (42.85%) of them focused on Brazil. It was found that during the Covid-19 pandemic, hospitals were overloaded, there was a lack of investment in materials and strategies for continuing cytopathological tests and the cancellation of routine appointments, which include clinical screening tests, in addition to the fear of contamination at health centers and hospitals as another barrier to screening. We conclude that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on screening for precancerous lesions of the cervix.
