Abstract: Technological developments have enabled innovative and ethical forms of entertainment. This study investigates the impact of robotics on competitive entertainment, proposing the replacement of animal fighting, which is still practiced illegally, with sumo robot competitions. These competitions offer a technological and educational alternative, eliminating animal suffering and promoting learning in robotics, programming, and engineering. The research includes a review of the history of fighting and an analysis of the potential of sumo robots as a teaching and leisure tool. A prototype was developed using an Arduino platform equipped with sensors to detect opponents and arena boundaries, demonstrating efficiency and agility in testing. The results indicate that sumo robot competitions eradicate violence against animals and encourage technical skills, creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking. It is concluded that this replacement represents an advance in competitive entertainment, aligning innovation and ethics.
