• Abstract:

  The Coordination of Improvement

  of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES)

  recently pointed out the need to monitor the

  professional performance of graduates as a

  way to evaluate the quality of the courses. In

  the view of this, the present research aims to

  investigate the index of permanence in the

  profession among students who completed their

  graduation between the years of 2013 and 2016

  in the pedagogy course, in a private institution

  in the interior of São Paulo, to later discuss the

  possible relations with the curriculum of the initial

  formation.Through a virtual questionnaire, a

  survey was carried out to evaluate the insertion,

  evolution and professional permanence of the

  graduates. It was found that the reason for the

  professional abandonment of the group studied

  was the need to seek better opportunities in

  other areas due to the saturated labor market, 

  low wages and working conditions.
