Abstract: This study addresses the neglect of Early Childhood Education in light of the "dark green" scores obtained in the Ceará Permanent Basic Education Assessment System (SPAECE). Its general objective is to encourage the recognition of Early Childhood Education as an important component of achieving the positive (dark green) results of the SPAECE. Its specific objectives include understanding how the link between Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education occurs and contributing to the appreciation of Early Childhood Education. The methodology used is exploratory, with a focus on qualitative research. The research revealed a scarcity of theoretical frameworks directly addressing the topic at hand. It is also noteworthy that the aim is not to require Early Childhood Education to undergo an external evaluation process similar to SPAECE to be seen as important, but rather to ensure Early Childhood Education has its rightful place within education as a whole.
