O espaço do sagrado e o espaço do trabalho nos vitrais da catedral de Chartres (França - século XIII)
Estudo sobre os vitrais da catedral
de Chartres que representam os ofícios e
suas organizações confraternais no âmbito da
cidade. Do ponto de vista espacial, além da
própria catedral, tomamos como referência a
cidade que a abriga e com quem espacialmente
se relaciona. Partiu-se do princípio de que os
dados figurativos estruturam-se nos quadros
imaginários da cristandade e das grandes
narrativas bíblicas. Portanto, não consideramos
a relação imagem/texto como um espelho da
realidade ou diretamente estruturada num
contexto. A ideia central é a de que existe uma
cultura visual presente nestas representações,
elas mesmas estruturantes deste universo.
Neste sentido, multiplicam-se as funções da
imagem que presentifica os grandes ideais da
cristandade.

Abstract:
Study on the stained glass
windows of the cathedral of Chartres that
represent the offices and their organizations
within the city. From the spatial point of view,
besides the cathedral itself, we take as reference
the city that houses it and with whom it is related
spatially. It was assumed that figurative data are
framed in the imaginary pictures of Christianity
and the great biblical narratives. Therefore, we
do not consider the image / text relation as a
mirror of reality or directly structured in a context.
The central idea is that there is a visual culture
present in these representations, themselves
structuring of this universe. In this sense, the
functions of the image that represent the great
ideals of Christianity are multiplied.
