O equilíbrio de poder em
O presente trabalho de pesquisa
objetiva centralmente analisar a posição central
de Martin Wight dentro da chamada Escola
Inglesa de teoria das relações internacionais,
destacando especialmente sua obra principal,
A política de poder, e dentro desta o conceito
de “equilíbrio de poder”. Sendo objetivos mais
específicos do trabalho pesquisar as linhas
teóricas gerais da chamada Escola Inglesa de
teoria das relações internacionais, pesquisar
as linhas teóricas gerais da obra wightiana A
política de poder, pesquisar centralmente o
conceito de “equilíbrio de poder” nessa obra, e,
conclusivamente, analisar a importância geral
do pensamento internacionalista wightiano
para a teoria das relações internacionais.
Dessa forma, o projeto presente pretende
contribuir para o adensamento da produção
intelectual brasileira sobre a teoria das relações
internacionais, considerando a persistente e
irrazoável superioridade dos estudos empíricos
sobre os estudos teóricos sobre as relações
internacionais ainda existente em nossa
produção bibliográfica.

Abstract:
The present scientific initiation
project aims to centrally analyze Martin Wight’s
central position within the so-called English
School of International Relations Theory,
especially highlighting his major work, Power
politics, and within this concept of “balance
of power”. As more specific objectives of the
project are to research the general theoretical
lines of the so-called English School of
International Relations Theory, to research
the general theoretical lines of the Wightian
work Power politics, to centrally research the
concept of “balance of power” in this work, and,
conclusively, to analyze the general importance
of Wightian internationalist thinking for the
theory of international relations. Thus, the
project intends to contribute to the consolidation
of Brazilian intellectual production on the
theory of international relations, considering
the persistent and unreasonable superiority of the empirical studies on the theoretical
studies on international relations still existing in our bibliographic production.
