Abstract: The 20th century and more intensely the 21st century were marked by great technological advances in education, allowing the creation of new ways to teach and transmit knowledge. Distance technical and higher education in nursing has become a bold and innovative way of breaking down barriers maintained by the conventional model used in the training of health professional; the objective of this work is to emphasize distance learning as a possibility for significant training for health professionals. In this study, we chose to carry out a bibliographical survey through reading and reviewing published texts that address the topic, these the most relevant articles were analyzed and cited in the work; the objective was to gather quotes that emphasize the contribution of this new pedagogical model in the training of professionals who opt for higher education in nursing. After organizing the citations in the body of work, it can be concluded that both in public and private institutions, distance professional teaching in nursing has been gaining its space within the pedagogical universe, presenting a contemporary way of teaching, breaking barriers of time and of space; Students are encouraged to develop their creativity, critical thinking, decision-making skills and interaction between everyone involved in the teaching-learning process, which guarantees quality in the training of these professionals. The training of teachers, tutors and other professionals involved in the teaching-learning process is fundamental to the success of this growing modality in education.
