O ENSINO À DISTÂNCIA COMO INSTRUMENTO DE DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DA EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR
A história da Educação a Distância (EAD) no Brasil data do século passado, desde a década de 20, com cursos profissionalizantes por correspondência. Posteriormente, surgiram os programas educativos no rádio e televisão, mas foi com o incremento da internet e com o reconhecimento dessa modalidade de ensino que o EAD passa a ter destaque no cenário educacional, se tornando um instrumento muito importante para viabilizar a democratização do ensino, e, em especial, a Educação Superior, por tratar de uma modalidade que permite flexibilidade aos alunos, pois é ele quem vai adequar o estudo ao seu modo de vida. Para realização deste trabalho adotou-se o método qualitativo, em que os instrumentos de análise foram livros, artigos e documentos de legislação que versam sobre a temática.

Abstract:
The history of Distance Education (Distance Education) in Brazil dates back to the last century, since the 1920s, with correspondence vocational courses. Later, educational programs emerged in radio and television, but it was with the increase of the Internet and with the recognition of this type of teaching that the EAD becomes highlighted in the educational scenario, becoming a very important instrument to enable the democratization of teaching, and, in particular, Higher Education, because it is a modality that allows flexibility to students, for it is he who will adapt the study to his way of life. To perform this work, the qualitative method was adopted, in which the instruments of analysis were books, articles and documents of legislation that deal with the theme.
