Abstract: World Leisure Day is a global campaign that aims to promote leisure as a fundamental right and emphasize its significance in people's lives. The objective of this study is to describe and analyze the actions taken in the first three editions of the campaign and identify successful practices to promote it. The research methodology used a qualitative approach that included a narrative and documentary review, along with participatory research. The primary findings reveal that the World Leisure Day campaign involved various social actors, such as the private sector, public bodies, universities, and non-governmental organizations. It featured a multitude of in-person and online activities, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, mobilizing thousands of people worldwide. The World Leisure Day campaign is considered a relevant initiative to promote and emphasize leisure globally as a fundamental right and a means of human development. Furthermore, the importance of creating the 2021-2025 work plan is emphasized as a way to achieve the established objectives and goals. This document provides a strong foundation for the Centers of Excellence in Leisure and their partners, guiding the paths to success for each edition.
