Abstract: This article aims to analyze the contribution of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Mozambique to economic development. The Mozambican economy has grown significantly in the last decade and one of the determining factors of this growth is foreign direct investment (FDI). Based on this, the work has as its starting question: What impact does Foreign Direct Investment have on the economic development of Mozambique? In order to achieve the proposed objective, a qualitative approach was chosen, through bibliographic and documentary research. The study is characterized as descriptive and also via documentary analysis correlated to the theme of this research such as (books, dissertations, monographs and scientific articles). Based on the data observed in the work, it was concluded that FDI has a positive effect on the economic growth of Mozambique, since it has the consequence of improving the living conditions of the populations, whether in the increase of human capital, as in the technological advance and the training to increase productivity and acquire skills. For future investigations, it is recommended that a more comprehensive study be carried out with other samples, having as a case study multinational companies, in this way, they could have more data that could help to understand the contribution of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Mozambique.
