O contexto institucional pela ótica da criança
O contexto institucional é um
espaço construído para a garantia dos direitos
das crianças, sendo essencial a atenção para o
olhar da criança acerca desse ambiente, que foi
construído em prol dela, porém não partiu da sua
percepção para elaboração. O estudo objetivou
conhecer as percepções das crianças sobre uma
instituição de acolhimento. Participaram sete
crianças entre três e nove anos (quatro meninos
e três meninas), acolhidas em uma instituição
municipal de Belém. Utilizou-se questionário
para a caracterização das crianças; lápis de
cor, canetas coloridas e folhas de papel A4;
entrevista semiestruturada e diário de campo.
No tocante ao perfil das crianças: a) 42,8%
das crianças não possuíam o nome do pai no
registro civil; b) Os principais motivos para o
acolhimento foram o abandono e negligência;
c) Todos os participantes possuíam irmãos
na instituição. Em relação aos desenhos: a)
indicaram vínculo familiar e com educadoras
b) A figura da casa foi frequente no relato das
crianças. As entrevistas revelaram que: a)
As crianças gostam do espaço, pois podem
brincar, assistir televisão e jogar bola; b) Entre
os elementos que não gostam, apareceram a
referência a cuidadoras e ao espaço geral; c)
Entre as mudanças desejadas pelas crianças foi
citado o voltar para casa. Os resultados podem
ser utilizados para melhorar a dinâmica da
instituição, incluindo o registro sistemático das
informações das crianças e seus cuidadores
principais e adequações quanto ao espaço
físico e formação dos educadores em vista de
assegurar a qualidade de cuidados as crianças.

Abstract:
The institutional environment is an
area constructed to ensure the children’s rights,
making it crucial to give attention to the child’s
perspective of this environment that was biuld to
their benefit, even though its perception was not taken into account for its elaboration.
This study aimed at acknowledging the children’s perspective about a sheltering
institution. Seven children took part in this study, they aged from three to nine (four boys
and three girls) sheltered in a municipal institution in Belem. A questionnaire was used
for the characterization of the children; colored pencil; colored pens, and A4 sheets of
paper; semi-structured interview; and field diary. The children’s profile was: a) 43.8%
of them did not have their father’s name on their birth certificate; b) the main reason for
sheltering was abandonment and negligence; c) all participants had siblings sheltered
in the same institution; Regarding the drawings: a) indicated bonds with family and
educators; b) the house was a common feature in the children’s speech. The interviews
revealed that: a) the children like the environment because they can play, watch TV,
and play ball; b) among the elements they don’t like it is mentioned the caretakers and
the general environment; c) among the changes desired by the children was going
back home. The results can be used to improve the dynamic of the institution, including
the systematic record of information of the children and their main caretakers, also for
some adaptations to the environment and training of educators in order to ensure the
quality of care provided to the children.
