O CARNAVAL NO CENTRO HISTÓRICO DE BELÉM DO PARA: ASPECTOS ESTRUTURAIS E ORGANIZACIONAIS
O carnaval é uma das maiores
manifestações culturais do Brasil, sendo
celebrado em todas as regiões do País e,
representa uma forma de lazer e fonte de renda
para milhares de pessoas que preservam a
cultura popular. Em Belém do Pará, um dos
carnavais mais frequentados é o da Cidade
Velha, entretanto, problemas estruturais são
relatados por moradores insatisfeitos da
área. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar
os aspectos estruturais e organizacionais
do Carnaval realizado no bairro da Cidade
Velha, no município de Belém. Trata-se
de uma pesquisa do tipo explicativa, com
abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa. A coleta
de dados foi através de entrevistas junto aos
moradores, brincantes, dirigentes de blocos e
autoridades, além de observações e registros
fotográficos dos espaços. A pesquisa revelou
que o carnaval da Cidade Velha é uma forma
de lazer e manifestação cultural brasileira que
deve ser preservada por todos que gostam de
arte. Os moradores da área não são contra
a realização do carnaval no bairro, mas
repudiam o pouco apoio do poder público para
a realização do mesmo, tendo em vista a falta
de segurança, a grande poluição sonora e o
pouco quantitativo de banheiros químicos. Os
organizadores dos blocos relataram que os
investimentos para realização dos eventos são
próprios e, que a prefeitura pouco ajuda na
infraestutura. Os brincantes mencionaram que
há pouco policiamento, falta de banheiros e
ornamentação da época

Abstract:
Carnival is one of the largest
cultural events in Brazil, celebrated in all
regions of the country and represents a form
of leisure and income for thousands of people
who preserve popular culture. In Belém of
Pará, one of the most frequented carnivals is
the Old Town, however, structural problems are
reported by unsatisfied residents of the area.
This study aimed to evaluate the structural and
organizational aspects of carnival held in the
neighborhood of Cidade Velha, in the city of
Belém. It is an explanatory type research, with
a qualitative and quantitative approach. The

data collection was through interviews with the residents, players, leaders of blocks
and authorities, as well as observations and photographic records of the spaces. The
search revealed that the Carnival of Cidade Velha is a form of leisure and Brazilian
cultural manifestation that must be preserved by everyone who likes art. The residents
of the area are not against the carnival in the neighborhood, but repudiate the little
support from the public power for the realization of the same, given the lack of security,
the great noise pollution and the small quantity of chemical toilets. The organizers of
the blocks reported that the investments to carry out the events are proper and that the
city hall does little to help in the infrastructure. The players mentioned that there is little
policing, lack of bathrooms and ornamentation of the time
