Por meio da literatura, o ser humano

entra em contato com uma forma de arte capaz de

recriar a realidade. Com isso, tais manifestações

estabelecem um elo comunicativo com o seu

leitor e através da experiência estética fazem

com que o leitor possa se identificar com o

conteúdo ali apresentado. Diante disso, este

artigo visa apresentar uma abordagem teórica

sobre a definição de literatura e o seu caráter

artístico e estético. Para tal, utilizamos como

embasamento teórico os pressupostos de Jean

Paul Sartre (1989), Terry Eagleton (2003), Afrânio

Coutinho (1978), Aristóteles (1970), Antonio

Candido (2004), José de Nicola (1993), Judith

Languer (2011), e Hans Robert Jauss (1989). A

partir deste estudo, foi possível perceber que a

literatura pode exercer fundamental relevância

na vida das pessoas, pois expande a visão dos

leitores e também propicia a compreensão de si

e do mundo em que vive.

Abstract:
Through literature, the human being

comes in contact with an art form capable of recreating

reality. With this, these manifestations

establish a communicative link with their reader

and through aesthetic experience they allow the

reader to identify with the content presented

there. Therefore, this article aims to present

a theoretical approach on the definition of

literature and its artistic and aesthetic character.

For such, we used the assumptions of Jean Paul

Sartre (1989), Terry Eagleton (2003), Afrânio

Coutinho (1978), Aristóteles (1970), Antonio

Candido (2004), José de Nicola (1993), Judith

Languer 2011), and Hans Robert Jauss (1989).

From this study, it was possible to perceive that

literature can have fundamental relevance in

people’s lives because expands the readers’s

vision and also provides an understanding of

themselves and the world in which they live.
