Abstract: In pediatric nursing, caring and playing can occur simultaneously and in a systematized, structured way and with specific objectives, using a soft-hard technology called Therapeutic Play (TP). This is a reflection on the use of BT as a care technology, divided into three topics: "Therapeutic toy as a care technology"; "Scientific evidence of the benefits of therapeutic toys"; and "Challenges for using therapeutic toys". Extensive scientific evidence indicates that TP helps to modify the hospital environment, feelings and the communication process with the child, influencing adherence to therapies, socialization, promoting bonds and improving collaboration with the team, even if this is not feel prepared to incorporate it into your work routine. It is a technology that requires greater investment by health managers and educational institutions for higher education and technical training. Effective implementation of TP requires efforts not only to incorporate it into practice, but also to provide opportunities to verify its benefits in direct care, aiming to promote awareness of its applicability, as well as support its adequate implementation in nursing care routines. pediatric.
