Abstract: Stereotypies are defined as actions of spatial and temporal repetitions, not presenting representations or scenarios where the child can recognize themselves as a subject, which are common in subjects with autism. These successions of movements produce a gross, obscene and useless sensorimotor movement, where its excesses show us the subject's suffering. It is in this sense that playing and the production of scenarios take on relevance, because in these, children cause real and fictional transformations: they pick up any object – stone, cup, spoon, paper, a box, any object that can be transformed into a car , a doll, a butterfly, etc. To this end, this work constitutes an experience report carried out in an Institution in the State of Santa Catarina, which was developed through the practice of Musical Education for children with autism. This study lists the possible productions based on the stereotypes presented by a child who made up the Musical Education group. The methodological procedures included observations, analysis of medical records, interviews with parents and interventions focused on the production of scenarios and playing. Diego (fictitious name) stereotyped throwing all the objects that came to his hand, so we asked ourselves: How can we provide musical experiences with this student? Starting from Diego's stereotypy, we use music as a tool to build scenarios where the student can recognize themselves as a subject, thus creating, through their stereotypy, a necessary scenario when playing. In this way, in the face of stereotypies, we included sound elements that enabled a scenario of meanings, as shown by the various interventions carried out during the work.
