Identificar e analisar as ações e práticas dos profissionais de saúde voltadas ao incentivo do aleitamento materno no sistema prisional. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura, realizada nas bases Scientific Electronic Library Online, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, National Library of Medicine, Scopus e Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, com recorte temporal de 2015-2025. Resultados: Foram selecionados 16 artigos, que resultaram em quatro categorias temáticas, a saber: As barreiras estruturais e institucionais do sistema prisional e as implicações para o aleitamento materno; Programas e boas práticas na amamentação dentro do sistema prisional; A enfermagem como potência para educar, acolher e incentivar; Profissionais de saúde como precursores de mudança e aplicabilidade das leis, políticas e direitos da mulher e criança Considerações Finais: O aleitamento materno no sistema prisional requer ações integradas e sensíveis a especificidades do binômio mãe-filho. A equipe de enfermagem, ao lado dos demais profissionais de saúde, desempenha papel fundamental na promoção, proteção e apoio à amamentação, contribuindo para a garantia dos direitos humanos e apara o cuidado integral. Os achados evidenciam a necessidade de efetivação das políticas públicas, formação continuada e estratégias intersetoriais que assegurem a continuidade do aleitamento e a equidade no acesso à saúde de mulheres privadas de liberdade e seus filhos.

  • Abstract: To identify and analyze the actions and practices of health professionals aimed at encouraging breastfeeding in the prison context. Method: This is an integrative literature review conduced in the Scientific Electronic Library Online, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, National Library of Medicine, Scopus e Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature databases, covering the period from 2015-2025. Results: 16 articles were selected, resulting in four thematic categories to know: The structural and institutional barriers of the prison system and their implications for breastfeeding; The programs and good practices in breastfeeding within prisons; The nursing team as a key force for education, care, and encouragement; and The health professionals as agents of change and enforcers of laws, policies, and the rights of women and children. Final Considerations: Breastfeeding in the prison system requires integrated actions for the specificities of the mother-child dyad. The nursing team, alongside other health professionals, plays a fundamental role in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding, contributing to the assurance of human rights and comprehensive care. The findings highlight the need for effective implementation of public policies, continuous professional education, and intersectoral strategies to ensure the continuity of breastfeeding and equitable access to healthcare for incarcerated women and their children.
