Abstract: The Child and Adolescent Statute, established by Law No. 8,069, of July 13, 1990, highlights in its first chapter the rights to health and life for this group. The infant mortality rate plays a crucial role in assessing the health of the population, reflecting access to health resources and the quality of maternal and child health care services. Therefore, it is essential that health systems dedicated to children and adolescents are effective and include the availability of services and equitable access for all layers of society. Access to these services plays a key role in preventing and promoting the health of this population. This is a narrative literature review study that aims to investigate the relevance of access to health services in promoting comprehensive health care for children and adolescents, aiming to evaluate the impacts of accessibility on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases in these areas. groups. The theoretical review of the literature was prepared through a search of the main publications obtained in the databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), and National Library of Medicine (PubMed). Access to health services is essential for preventing avoidable deaths and ensuring the healthy development of children and adolescents. In Brazil, despite advances in public health policies, regional disparities in the availability of resources and services still persist. This results in obstacles to universal and equal access to healthcare, especially for more vulnerable populations.
