Abstract: The essay discusses the contributions of Bernardino Ramazzini's thinking in the context of the relationship between the human condition and the working conditions of collectives of nursing mothers, in an approximation with the individualized view of occupational health on the breastfeeding of puerperal women. It highlights the effects of the working conditions of nursing mothers, in the specificity of mental and physical illness, expressed in De morbis artificum Diatriba, the author's seminal work, in dialogue with the puerperium today. The core of the Integrated Women's Health Care Program, created in 1984, and the current Stork Network are examined. Postpartum depression is characterized. The reader is invited
