Abstract: The identification of certain characteristics associated with the current moment of the pandemic, allowed to know the situation, within the confinement, of athletes belonging to higher education institutions in the city of Pasto, Nariño. The type of study considered, descriptive observational, cross-sectional; where researchers from educational institutions: Universidad Mariana and Universidad del Cauca, conducted a digital survey of 162 athletes, with voluntary participation. Statistical analysis was performed using frequency and percentage distributions, measures of central tendency and dispersion for the quantitative variables. The study showed that, during confinement, there were significant changes in training and feeding. Among the most relevant characteristics, 78.4% continued with training within their home, preferring activities related to strength, especially in the lower limbs. These types of activities were carried out, for the most part, on their own initiative, since more than 50% were unable to obtain help from a professional in these types of activities. In addition to finding ease in the use of virtual platforms to continue exercising constantly. In relation to food, it was evidenced that the increase in intake was relevant during confinement, showing an increase in weight in them.
