NOVO REGISTRO DE LIMNOPERNA FORTUNEI (DUNKER 1856) (BIVALVIA, MYTILIDAE) NO RIO IBICUÍ, SUL DO BRASIL
O bivalve de água doce Limnoperna fortunei (Dunker 1856) é uma espécie exótica invasora, responsável por inúmeros prejuízos ecológicos e econômicos. Atualmente, é encontrado em diversos países da América do Sul, incluindo o Brasil. O seguinte estudo tem como objetivo o registro da primeira ocorrência de L. fortunei no rio Ibicuí, trecho que abrange o município de Manoel Viana, RS. Amostragens no local de estudo e entrevistas com pescadores profissionais indicaram a presença do molusco. Ainda, os entrevistados relataram o aumento da abundância do bivalve ao longo do tempo.

Abstract:
The freshwater bivalve Limnoperna fortunei (Dunker 1856) is an invasive alien species, responsible for numerous ecological and economic damage. It is currently found in several countries in South America, including Brazil. The following study aims to record the first occurrence of L. fortunei in the Ibicuí River, Manoel Viana, RS. Sampling at the study site and interviews with professional fishermen indicated the presence of the mollusc. In addition, respondents reported an increase in bivalve abundance over time.
