Abstract: The article presents the general characteristics of children and adolescents (hereinafter NNA) who live on the streets in Metropolitan Lima and discusses two of the main questions that have arisen in the search for the interruption of their deterioration: Is it possible to achieve the family reintegration of street children and adolescents? And if the intervention proposal should be universal or can you think of more than one intervention proposal according to the level of deterioration that each NNA has? The answers to these questions are based -mainly- on the data obtained with the work carried out between 2018 and 2022 by the INABIF Street Educators Service, whose purpose is to achieve the restitution and exercise of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents living on the streets. Based on the above, in addition to discussing some characteristics of children and adolescents who live on the street, the objective of this article is to recover the bases with which the proposal for attention to children and adolescents living on the street was developed based on «impairment profiles», in order to update it and contribute to the achievement of its social reintegration; For this, we will present the main data obtained with the registration system of the Street Educators Service, both on the general characteristics of the children and adolescents who live on the street and on the care and protection provided to this vulnerable population.
