NIELS HENRIK ABEL (1802-1829) 190 ANOS DEPOIS
A partir de exposições a respeito do ensino de Matemática, nas quais são abordadas a necessidade de superação dos modelos tradicionalmente exercidos em sala com a inclusão metodologias e recursos alternativos, este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar um texto fundamentado na biografia de Niels Henrik Abel, de modo a destacar suas contribuições científicas à Matemática e que também possa ser utilizado na formação inicial ou continuada de professores de matemática. Considera-se que a inclusão de aspectos históricos no ensino de Matemática pode favorecer a desmistificação de que esta disciplina é imutável, quando na verdade os argumentos matemáticos podem ser questionados e também sofrer modificações em decorrência do desenvolvimento de conteúdos matemáticos, fatos que podem ser caracterizados ao longo de sua construção histórica. Assim, destaca-se o recurso da biografia como uma alternativa na qual é possível observar e destacar as contribuições e equívocos relacionados a um personagem específico, visto que a instrumentalidade educativa da biografia favorece a troca de experiências individuais e coletivas. Para tanto, este trabalho foi assentado em bases metodológicas qualitativa por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica de cunho histórico, na qual buscou-se traços biográficos de Niels Henrik Abel e suas contribuições à Matemática em livros, sites e trabalhos acadêmicos. Os caminhos percorridos e a escrita deste texto evidenciaram que os estudos de Niels Henrik Abel trouxeram novas perspectivas nas áreas as quais centraram suas pesquisas, dentre elas, as equações algébricas de grau cinco ou superior e a teoria das funções elípticas.

Abstract:
Based on exhibitions about the teaching of Mathematics, in which the need to overcome the models traditionally exercised in the classroom with the inclusion of alternative methodologies and resources is addressed, this work aims to present a text based on the biography of Niels Henrik Abel in order to highlight its scientific contributions to Mathematics and that it can also be used in the initial or continuing education of mathematics teachers. It is considered that the inclusion of historical aspects in the teaching of Mathematics may favor the demystification that this discipline is immutable, when in fact the mathematical arguments can be questioned and also undergo changes due to the development of mathematical content, facts that can be characterized throughout its historic construction. Thus, the feature of biography stands out as an alternative in which it is possible to observe and highlight the contributions and misconceptions related to a specific character, since the educational instrumentality of biography favors the exchange of individual and collective experiences. To this end, this work was based on qualitative methodological bases through a bibliographic research of a historical nature, in which biographical traces of Niels Henrik Abel and his contributions to Mathematics were sought in books, websites and academic works. The paths taken and the writing of this text showed that the studies of Niels Henrik Abel brought new perspectives in the areas in which he focused his research, among them, the algebraic equations of grade five or higher and the theory of elliptic functions.
