Abstract: In the present day, several authors highlight nanotechnology as the foundation for the next industrial revolution. When we observe the prefix 'nano,' we are operating on the scale of 10-9 meters. And at this scale, it's possible to modify various factors, including color, conductivity, relativity, and melting point, creating new applications for materials. Brazil intensified its research efforts starting in 2001, and from 2007 onwards, the government identified this area as strategic, primarily due to its potential for innovation, market growth opportunities, and perceived benefits. Considering the importance of this sector for the Brazilian economy, the objective of this work is to assess the scientific production on the subject from 2007 to 2014. The data found demonstrate that the expansion of research is evidenced by the increased participation of countries such as China and India, as well as the reduction in the volume of patents in relation to publications.
