MUTISMO SELETIVO: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DA LITERATURA
Este artigo apresenta uma Revisão Integrativa da Literatura sobre o Mutismo Seletivo nos últimos onze anos. Foi eleito como objetivo sintetizar resultados obtidos em pesquisas sobre mutismo seletivo no Brasil e em Portugal. O Mutismo Seletivo (MS) é um transtorno ainda pouco conhecido pelos educadores e psicólogos escolares, o que torna o seu diagnóstico tardio e acaba impactando a aprendizagem e o desenvolvimento da criança, principalmente no âmbito escolar e social. O Mutismo Seletivo foi classificado como um Transtorno de Ansiedade e caracteriza-se pela falta de comunicação oral em determinados ambientes, principalmente na escola, podendo, inclusive, ser confundido com uma timidez extrema, fazendo com que, assim, ocorra um retardo no diagnóstico. Como forma de amenizar os impactos causados pelo MS é indicada a ludoterapia que, além de ser aplicada como tratamento, também facilita a comunicação e socialização de crianças com MS. Conclui-se que o estudo e a pesquisa sobre este transtorno é fundamental para promover um acompanhamento adequado da criança, tanto por parte dos docentes quanto dos familiares, e prevenir, dessa forma, maiores impactos no atraso dos processos de aprendizagem.

Abstract:
This paper presents an Integrative Review of Selective Mutism Literature in the last eleven years. The objective is to synthesize results obtained in research on selective mutism in Brazil and in Portugal. Selective Mutism (SM) is a disorder still little known by educators and school psychologists, which makes for a late diagnosis and ends up impacting the child’s learning and development, especially in the school and social environment. Selective Mutism was classified as an anxiety disorder and is characterized by the lack of oral communication in certain environments, especially at school, and can even be confused with extreme shyness, thus causing a delay in diagnosis. As a way of mitigating the impacts caused by SM, play therapy is highlighted, which is used as a treatment, and how it facilitates communication and socialization of children with SM. It is concluded that knowledge about this disorder is important so that better monitoring of the child exists, both by teachers and relatives, in order not to cause a possible delay in their learning.
